Bears were undoubtedly the biggest threat to wolves across Boreas, as cougars were dangerous but not quite as intimidating to take down as full grown, territorial bears. Bears were smart, too.. and smart fighters. They were lazy and didn't want to move around much during their fight, but that's what made fighting overly aggressive bears even more fun- provoking their fatasses to actually move around and work for the fight.

Elias nearly smirked as he thought about this, watching the colossal white bear come out into full view and begin to face Malleus. Would they manage to piss this bear off to that point today? Where even if it became exhausted, it still fought to the death to try to get a good hit on these wolves. Well, it didn't have a choice really. Elias wasn't leaving until this thing was dead, and if the other wolves in his company saw any of the same carnage he did on their way here- he had his doubts that they were any less likely to let this bear get through the night alive.

Elias watched as these two wolves seemed to be familiar with one another. He had half a mind to keep his distance and observe their strategy. They likely knew how to hunt with each other already, and Elias would do his best to observe and blend in. They both seemed quick on their feet, and the female exercised a perfected use of stealth and speed to snip that Achilles' heel and get away unscathed. He felt a little more confident in the company of the wolves fate handed him to accompany taking down this bear with, and he began to side-step in line with the back end of the bear as it turned to face Pyralis.

Elias loved the Rock Garden for several reasons. One being that his traps were littered across the territory, and two being that the rocks that stood tall in the garden seemed to offer particularly useful vantage points. His eyes narrowed as they studied one closest to the bear, it seemed to be just slightly taller than the bear's shoulder height - but sort of narrow in width and angled just a little too steep. Elias had confidence in his ability to climb it, however, as the steep volcano walls and cliffs scattered around the plateau had been the training grounds of his youth. The tall wolf began to crouch, his stance turning into a ground-hugging crawl as his wide chest hovered barely over the soil. Once he felt like he was out of view of the bear's line of eyesight, his body came up and sacrificed stealth for speed as he ran full speed toward the stone.

It looked like the colossal beast was preoccupied for the moment, its aggression set on the female wolf for the attack she'd just made. It watched her, and kept moving- the bear seemed to have his back toward Malleus and the stone Elias had chosen to climb, which was perfect for what the man had in mind. Talons and toes gripped against the stone texture beneath them as Elias' long and well-muscled limbs worked to carry him quickly up that natural staircase. He used his momentum to make up for his weight as he rushed up the stone. He couldn't stop or he'd start to slide backward and there was no point in that, so he took a quite literal leap of faith.

Elias wasn't a quiet creature. Adrenaline soared through his veins and an irresistible urge to give in to the high the hunt gave him overcame him. A growl left his throat as he watched his body come down on to the bear's backside, his mouth hanging wide open and eager all the while. Teeth snapped at the tallest bit of flesh he could reach and he managed to latch on to the bear's fat deposits over its shoulders. Blood trickled into his mouth as his jaws clenched together tight, preparing themselves for the pull of his body weight. His toes scrambled to anchor themselves in the bear's fur, his talons disappearing into the sea of white as they dug themselves in. He managed to reduce the pull of his weight on his bite enough that his jaws managed to keep a hold on it strong enough for him to remain on top of the bear, for now.

The muscles in his core tensed as his legs and forelimbs took their turns scratching into the hide of the bear- all the while his teeth pulling and gnawing on the flesh of the bear's shoulders. He hoped to annoy the bear even further, perhaps distract it with an immediate need to get the man off its' back enough so that the other two could have an opportunity to attack literally any point on the bear that they so pleased.
