Who Knew [Inquiry]

Enrico had been acquainting himself with the new prey animals that made the north their home. Some were familiar - caribou who were much like elk, moose, musk oxen who resembled bison, dall sheep who were much like desert bighorn, and of course myriad small game who had negligible differences between their desert counterparts. But some were unfamiliar too - seals, particularly. He had never seen the strange flippered animals before, and had been crouched at a short distance from a breathing hole for some time, hoping one would pop up where he could observe it better. He'd seen, at a distance, a great white bear on the sea ice taking a seal as it came up for air at one of the holes, and he wondered about whether his pack could do so, or set a trap for them.
His patient waiting was interrupted by a howl at his border - strange, that. HIS border. He wasted no time, though, not wanting to keep a visitor waiting. If they were friendly, he could certainly use the paws here and keeping them waiting might discourage them. If they were... not friendly, then a long wait might encourage them to make a stab at causing trouble. Either way, he didn't want someone lingering on the border.
Arriving, his eyes lit up to see the young wolf he'd once hunted beside, though rather more grown up than when they'd last met. A smile tilted one corner of his muzzle as he came to a stop before her. Would she remember? His English was better now than it had been when they'd met - he had his time in Celestial to thank for that. But back when they'd met, he hadn't even known the word for pigs. "Oink oink?" he said aloud in amusement.
