Winter Wonderland

With Regulus planning on turning over the pack soon, Gwen didn’t want to be far from pack lands for a while. He’d given her an important responsibility, and it was one she wanted - needed - to be capable of fulfilling. She couldn’t very well do that constantly trekking about. But she also needed to hone her skills in fighting. She couldn’t be dragging her pack mates back and forth to the battlefield to act as witnesses so she could do so. But the pack had been fairly quiet of late and no doubt others were equally in need of the exercise and practice. Why not combine her needs and those of the pack, and hold battle training once again?

Winter had just begun,and even here huge soft flakes of snow were slowly falling. Right now they were simply melting away as soon as they touched down, but she had the feeling that they were in for a long, cold winter. That meant hungry predators, which meant a danger to the pack, particularly if anyone bore pups. She doubted anyone would, with the pack’s breeding females all vanishing this past year, but it was certainly a worry. Particularly with such a young, inexperienced alpha just taking the reins. They’d be in particular danger from raids, too, until Aurielle was seen as firmly in command.

Trotting to the center of a fairly clear area, she lifted her head to call for the pack to join her. No tricks and goofing around this time, except for the added difficulty of the constant mist. Just straightforward practice and conditioning. They couldn’t risk someone getting majorly hurt right now playing around with new moves and silliness they’d done last time. There would be time enough for that in the spring when hunting was easy and predators would be less likely to harass the pack. Other wolves, yes, the easier travel would likely attract that type, but not hungry predators.


OOC: Going to be decided by dice rolls in the same way as last time, but this time I'm not in the hospital having a baby so it won't be interrupted lol. Not strictly mandatory but anyone interested in fight points should post by noon EST Saturday.
