The sudden laughter caught his attention, and his head rose to see a girl almost a foot smaller than himself standing on top of the wall. “Well now,” he said in a soft purr, “How’d a pretty thing like you get all the way up there?” He asked, his haunches sinking to the earth to make himself more comfortable.
He looked briefly down the length of the structure, searching for any small fault he could use to climb to the top but only saw the smooth structure span the horizon uninterrupted. He was sure there was a break in it somewhere but saints only knew how far away that was. He looked over the height of the wall again. It seemed pretty high, but he’d been jumping distances far larger than himself since his puphood. He concluded to wait for the girl's answer before making any decisions of his own.
