Her answer didn't make him feel any better. It only made his suspicions become more of a possibility. He turned nodding to the pup before quickly moving off to get her something to eat. There was plenty of prey around here and it would not be hard to find something. He just hoped she would be okay until he got back. He quieted his movements, his senses alert as he searched for food. His ears picked up the distant sounds of pigs foraging in the brush a piglet from this past spring should still be small enough size for him to take down easily. Moving quietly he approached the pigs. Stopping he made a quick survey of the group watching and waiting for an opportunity. There was a small group of piglets moving off from the main group. This would be his target and he quietly moved closer to the group. Once he was lined up he sprung forward charging and snapping his jaws around the neck of the piglet. He flattened his ears at the squealing that came from it and dashed away with it as mamma came charging over.
He ran a distance away from the group, the squealing piglet still in his jaws. He stopped then to silence the animal, finishing it off and relieving his ears from its scream. He then backtracked towards where he left the young girl. He was relieved when her pale form came into view. He moved over to her and placed the piglet before her before stepping back and allowing her to eat her fill. Like any normal adult he kept tabs on their surroundings, watching for trouble, much like her parents would if they were here. He didn't disturb her while she ate wanting her to eat what she needed to fill her tummy. He looked to her then the questions still buzzing within his head, but he wasn't sure how to approach the subject. He know one thing, he wasn't leaving her.
"Where are your parents Dove," he asked hoping not to upset her with his more straight forward question.
