She wasn't quite sure what he meant by 'general' but after saying she might one day be a good one he moved on and she decided to let it go. Perhaps he was part of a pack or something and that was one of their higher ranks. Either way, she was going to take it as a compliment. "Maybe I will." Perhaps there was someone in Niente who would teach her.
In response to his joke she snorted a chuckle. "It does have a nice ring to it." Landon was a nice name. In her opinion it suited him, which was more than she could say for her name. She didn't really feel like a Ferrous. Kestrel was better. Cooler. And when she used it, it put a bit more distance between herself and whoever she was dealing with. She liked that. It was safer. "You can call me Kestrel."
"Tell me, little Minx, are you really alone?" She cocked her head at him and fixed him with a curious stare. "Who said I was alone?" Of course, she was alone. But she hadn't said that and she wasn't about to confirm his suspicions. It was better - safer - for him to believe she was with others.
