"What's this?" Malleus asked as he bent down so the tiny macaque on his back could see the dandelions he was pointing at. "Um..." Pascal peeped, his little face screwing up in concentration. After a few moments his expression brightened visibly and he crowed, "A dan-eh-dee-lion!" Malleus grinned approvingly, then said, "A dandelion, yes. Do you remember what they're good for?" Malleus had been working hard to teach Pascal the names and uses of medicinal plants. Because the macaque was so young they were starting off easy with common plants. Quick as a whip Pascal replied cheekily, "Everything!" Almost as quickly he said, "Just kidding. Dandelions can make you pee, and they're good for in-fammation and- hey look a wolf!" Malleus turned to look in the direction Pascal was pointing. Sure enough, a small wolf was moving with purpose in their direction. The petite woman looked vaguely familiar, but he couldn't quite place her. "Are we gonna say hi?" Malleus glanced back at his little companion before replying in a low voice, "Nah, she looks busy so we'll just let her pass." "Malleus" - "Pascal" |
