The idea that Enrico would somehow be free once he was dead was an amusing one. Basileus sniggered as the world around him seemed to dim. The loss of blood was beginning to get to him. He didn't know how much longer he had and he didn't care. "Non sarai mai libero." Slowly, so slowly he wasn't immediately aware of the movement, Basileus' head sank to the ground. He hadn't made the decision to lay it down, but he didn't have the power to hold it up any longer. He was just too tired; the fire he'd felt as he lunged at Enrico was dying away. What little energy remained he would save in case Enrico moved closer. Basileus had every intention of taking the bastard with him. "E ancora," he said dryly, "Eccomi, facendo proprio questo." |
