Living in the Grey

She had traveled all over, and her travels would bring her westward in the hopes it would be warmer during the winter. Last nights storm had her stuck beneath an old log for shelter, but luckily it had faded away enough to where she could leave her shelter and continue on her way. Where she was going, she had no idea. She never really had a destination in mind. She had seen a lot during her travels but probably not enough. Come to think of it, she couldn't really remember what she had seen...perhaps she had simply rushed too much in getting through the lands that she wasn't really paying attention.
Small paws crunched lightly over the snow that covered the valley, and for miles that's all she could see. So the western lands weren't safe from it either? Oh well. She continued her path, slowly at first to get used to the snow valley. When she felt she was a good distance in, she picked up the pace until she was practically galloping across the snow. She laughed as the wind brushed her fur, her tail wagging and tongue hanging out as she enjoyed herself. She loved being able to go where she wanted, when she wanted. But it did often get pretty lonely...
As she gazed up at the sky, she thought about her family and how they were doing. Did they find packs? Were they traveling too? She didn't have too much time to think about it. Before she knew it, her body dropped so fast that she didn't even have a fast enough reaction time to even yelp. It seemed she had found a rather deep bit of snow and it had swallowed her up. It surrounded all of her except for her head. Her head sat awkwardly above the rest of the snow, and she frowned. She tried to pull her legs up, but with no success. Was she destined to stay stuck here until the snow melted if she couldn't get out?
