A Lion And A Lamb

In an instant the chase was over. Her surprised yelp was music to his ears as he wrapped his arms around her; the yip drawing an amused chuckle from him. Victory was his and - he breathed in her sweet scent - it smelled amazing. Malleus loosened his grip on Serene so he wouldn't squash her, but he didn't let her go. Instead he remained crouched over her; his chest brushing against her back with every breath he drew. Each inhalation made his skin prickle with anticipation as their fur intertwined. In response to her question he hummed thoughtfully and let a few seconds tick by as though he needed to consider his next move. In reality the answer was easy. Without a word he dropped his head until his lips brushed Serene's scruff. He breathed in deeply, his eyes closing, and let her sweet scent wash over him. His pulse quickened and his breath grew shallow as her perfume overwhelmed his senses. Malleus' eyes opened as he felt a shiver run through Serene. "This," he murmured into her ear before nipping at it playfully. His final retaliation, promise! His lips then found their way from her ear to her jawline and left a trail of kisses in their wake. While it would be so easy to give in, to do what his every instinct screamed at him to do, a thought nagged at him and held him back. Malleus hesitated and craned his neck to the side so he could meet Serene's gaze. His voice heavy with implication, he asked, "Are you sure this is what you want?" He had to know. From this moment on Serene's future would be tied to the Abraxas. If she conceived a part of her would belong to them. If she chose him today there would be no going back. If she ever changed her mind he wouldn't give her up so easily. |
