Enrico merely nodded in response to her reason for wishing to join a pack. It was a fairly neutral reason, indicating nothing in particular about her but certainly one he could appreciate. Her question came quickly on the heels of her answer to his, and Enrico took a moment to compose a reply before he said anything. This was the most delicate part of these conversations, and could make or break a possible association. He'd always been good at it, when he was carefully selecting possible associates and coaxing the associates with the most potential into the cosca's folds, but this was different. Niente was on the straight and narrow, or at least more so than the mafia for certain, so he couldn't exactly eliminate any mistakes the way they'd done then.
"Niente is composed of a series of guilds," he began slowly. "Each guild follows a different specialty that pack members may choose to follow. Hunting, fighting, healing, crafting and trading, scouting. A wolf interested in one of the guilds would begin as a creance, an apprentice, until they prove themselves capable and learned in the general subject matter and can move to the journeyman rank. They can chose to begin to learn specialties within their chosen guild, like a hunter may choose to improve their tracking or learn to track wolves rather than prey. A scout may learn to gather information from other wolves, other packs, or to guide. A healer, what we call a kestrel, may begin to concentrate on one aspect of healing, or perhaps they may concentrate on the learning of poisons. When a journeyman proves their skill, they move up to master rank."
Icy blue eyes watched Magnolia in a seemingly-detached manner, politely reserved, as he changed the tenor of his explanation. "There are strict rules governing behavior that my wolves are expected to follow, lines that are not to be crossed, but not every activity Niente engages in will be... socially acceptable to more delicate sensibilities. I would certainly not force any of the pack's wolves who are not comfortable being directly involved in such activities to do so, but any wolf joining must be aware that there is more to Niente than outsiders may be allowed to see and must be willing to accept their pack mates who do so and to not betray their activities to others."
