Indigo sheen reflected off the flare of his nostrils as he continued to inhale at the wind with hungry lungs. Following the trail of blood into pack territory was an easy task, truth be told. His challenge came with remaining mindful of his mass and how easily he could remain hidden in the pines to anyone looking on from a distance. It was particularly frustrating to have to part ways with the scent trail of blood in favor of following the shadows and avoiding open areas along the mountainside, especially with how in dire need of food he was tonight.

He was becoming a bit more desperate the further he moved into pack territory, he didn't fully understand the sheer size of the Maw. After several minutes he forfeited his crawl for a jog and took off in the direction the air brought the scent. When he took in the sight of the already ripped open corpse, an involuntary growl released from his rumbling chest while his massive paws worked to quickly scale him down the mountainside. He didn't stop until he was on top of it, his teeth working to sink themselves into a large portion of exposed meat before his feet even came to a stilled stance.

His eyes nearly rolled back in his head with his first swallow of food, an audible gulp filling the air around the two wolves. If Actaea had been unaware of his presence, she surely heard him now. His growl was resonating around them in a barely recognizable rumble.. becoming louder each time his jowls parted to lunge for another portion of meat. He couldn't summon any grace at this moment, all will to do so surrendered beneath the power of survival instincts and eat like a truly hungry wolf.

After his first few successful swallows, he finally allowed himself to mind his surroundings. Large imp ears rotated slightly on his head as they sensitively were pulled toward the sound of Actaea's breathing not far from him. His eyes widened, bloodied maw lifting from the kill while still chewing down flesh. His eyes took in the sight of her and his chewing slowly ceased until another loud gulp ended it all together. Long limbs bent slightly, his weight anchoring at his hindquarters until he sprang forward and jumped over the kill entirely so that he was positioned on the same side as her. By now, she was likely just as aware of his presence as he was if she hadn't already been so for some time, and that was good. He simply wanted to be closer to her so he could get to know her, either not caring or not noticing how invasive that could be for her. A large grin split a maw seemingly constructed of smooth obsidian as he slowly squared his stance and flagged out his tail behind him.
