Chasing Ghosts
Amaris Abraxas
Within the confines of the hallow tree, Amaris was all but deaf to the commotion going on outside the wood. She did however, make out the slightest whisper of her sister's hollering, which assured the fawn girl that help was on the way. Her panicked state was finally settling down, but she continued to take deep, thoughtful breaths until she could finally think over the sound of her beating heart. "Okay Mar, think. There was a way in, so there has to be a way out." Yes, that made sense. Blue orbs looked around the darkness before her, finding little to no light within the heart of the formidable tree foe. Mar? How did the tree eat you? She could just barely hear her sister's question, and she had to pause to think about her answer. It would be kinda embarrassing to admit the truth, but if the truth was what got her out of there.. then maybe it was worth it.
"A butterfly tricked me into jumping into it's mouth.." she squirmed, feeling foolish to let such an insignificant insect imprison her like this. But as she squirmed, she was reminded that her hind legs were indeed free, only her thorax being consumed by the monstrous tree. "Fel! Fel! Find my legs! I think they're still hanging out of the tree's mouth!" She would call out as loud as she could, hoping her dear sister could hear her instructions. To help with the search, Amaris began to thrash her legs about, feeling the coolness of dirt between her toes and the familiar sound of claws on bark as she tried to wiggle free. "Can you see me?" She would call out, mostly because she was afraid to be left alone, but she knew Felicity would never do that. They were family after all, Abraxas. That meant nobody got left behind.
