Solor was, passively, not going to let his Winter Rose out of his site. When a bird entered their world and disturbed - for a second time, if a different bird this time - he was definitely interested in eating it. “Your family really likes birds” he would comment to full the time between the Island and Abaven. Even Vail wouldn’t know the reason her sister had called for her, she had simply seen the bird, and began the trek. He felt a little pinch in his heart at their ability to have wordless conversations, even when the both of them weren’t in the same land.

Faun was gone, he knew that, and Vail remained. He wouldn’t be abandoned again, so if this was where Vail was headed, then so was Solor. He kept close to his Winter Rose, but it was soon clear that she had become far more experienced at navigating the land. She didn’t trip and stumble, stub her toe, or land in a rosebush like he half expected her to. She didn’t really need a shining knight to save her, not anymore.

They approached the borders of the pack lands, and the first words from Vail’s lips where hope for her parents, and Solor shot Shaye a dirty look, when he knew Vail was crestfallen at their absence. “An Alpha?” he asked, uncertain if he should be weary or amused. He raised a brow at Vail.
