Join me in song - ABAVEN PACK RECRUITING
The cowering man skulked toward the woman with his ears flat and his tail tucked firmly between his legs. He had been careful to keep himself hidden until he was sure the woman had good intentions. He and his lover Shiloh had talked about joining Abaven, before the ochre male had vanished and Spider ran off in search of him. He had no knowledge of how the pack had changed hands, or the fate of its leader, all he knew was that healers, such as himself, could find a place there.
Cautiously he approached the female, his eyes wide and fearful as if she might snap at him in a moments notice, which was after all, something he had grown accustomed to between Shiloh and his brief venture with Antigone. “H-h-hello.” He squeaked, his eyes on his own paws, flexing them nervously and ready to kick off the ground in terror. “I-I’m a h-h-healer.” He managed to stutter, a wave of doubt starting to flood over him. “I w-was w-w-w-w-w-w-won-wondering…” He broke off, his body beginning to tremble with nervousness. Blessed Yosep, this was going horribly. “Fucking everything up as usual.” His brother’s voice taunted in his mind, forcing him to grit his teeth and shut his eyes firmly, small nervous whimpers escaping him as he did. He wanted to cry; more than that he wanted his chattering companion Echo, or Shiloh, or even Gabe, the male he had briefly met and who he had rescued nearly a year ago. He wanted anyone that would tell him softly that it would be alright, but for the time being there was no one. “I d-d-don’t w-w-want t-t-to b-b-be al-l-lone.” He had managed to whisper, his voice raw with emotion.
