dark mists are cloaking what the eyes can see
He'd lost it! Éldi stood panting, his breath nearly invisible in the darkness. To the east he could see the hazy first glimmers of light and knew that if he wanted to get moving before the sun rose he needed to find his breakfast and find it now. Skilled eyes trained over the terrain until he noticed a deep, dark hole in the earth that looked just big enough for him to squeeze through. If that blasted rabbit was taking shelter anywhere he was going to guess it was in there. Scrambling up the rocks he peered inside, nostrils flaring for any sign of bears though he knew they wouldn't be hibernating this time of year. Glancing once more toward the horizon he slipped inside.
It was slow going at first, Éldi was not a petite wolf and some areas of the passage were tighter than others. When he finally did reach the end he popped out into a huge, open cavern. Well, that's what he guessed anyway. It was far to dark to see anything but the air wasn't as dank here and it was cold and he swore he could feel a slight breeze.
"Yo, rabbit? You in here?"
