Pawsteps behind her made her jump slightly, and she turned to see who it was. Delight coursed through her when she saw him, and as he dropped into the bow of play, she mirrored him, tail having gone from tucked to whirling over her back. What was she doing here? ?I? Well, when I was little, I wandered away, and ended up here, and? And it was scary.? Her ears flattened, pupils shrinking slightly, as the nasty memories returned. She didn?t want to be that wolf, defeated and bleeding out. She didn?t want to bring her mother heart pain because she was unable to defend herself. Her training, by her Uncle and Mother?s standards, were late. They?d begun their fighting training at six months.

She forced her thoughts to focus back to Creed. What was he doing here? ?So, I wanted to face being afraid of this place. Mother and Uncle Cormalin both say I need to learn to fight. Mother?s been very serious about it since a bad wolf attacked Rayne.? She sat out of the play bow abruptly. ?So, that?s what I?m doing here. What are you doing here, Creed-- Wow?? She actually looked at him. He had gotten so big! Her tail batted the ground as she looked him over. He was getting even fluffier, too, while she was sleeker, her fur more accustomed to her pack?s territory.

Mismatched eyes sparkled. With her friend here, this place wasn?t so scary anymore.
