Tyranis continued to stalk the East, unsettled by the pack that had settled in the weeping woods and the tall grass plains. What was worse was the fact that the leader of said pack had been the male his mate had cuckolded him to. When he raised Dauntless he had been adamant that marriage and spousal loyalty had been core to his pack’s foundation. Now he had become bitter to the idea, and the idea of giving his heart to anyone roiled within him.
Then there was Kai. If a man could have feelings for another man he supposed how he felt for Kai came close. Kai had a way of making him feel weightless, a way of lifting his spirits when he was down, and always seemed to have an optimistic approach to everything.
He walked along the delta, lost in thought, his tail waving behind him as he paced the thin grass and sand. In the distance he saw a figure, distinctly female and felt a smile creep over his lips. “Greetings.” He called quietly, not wanting to startle her away. She reminded him of a dove with her white fur and delicate features, and so he had determined it would take a soft hand to approach her without scaring her away.
