Spring. The time of newleaf, when the snow melted away and made way for new life. Cubs, foals, fawns, calves, hatchlings, and new saplings and the budding of new flowers. He had been wandering the northern lands for some time. Not really knowing what to do, or where to go. A rogue without purpose. No home, no family. Just him. Snow crunched under his paws, a light layer of it on his pelt. He didn't know where he was going, but wherever it was the snow was thinning out. He stopped, looking at the small shoots of grass desperately trying to reach the sun. He stopped, jungle green gaze staring at the ground. Purpose...at least the young buds of grass had one. To grow as tall as it could, strong against the bitter cold of this area. What was he doing here? Not even he knew. He had come ashore, wet and soaked weeks ago. Not even knowing if there were packs around. He had met wolves, rogues like himself. But he never stayed long or followed them. What was the point?

Sighing, the mottled brown man walked again. He went miles, at least ten. Continuing his silent quest to the unknown. He was coming over a rise, the snow almost leaving his presence and making way to bright green scenery. Flowers were blooming here, the scent of fresh grasses and blooms itched his nostrils. It had been a while since he came across all of this. He scented the air, ears twitching as he caught wind of a nearby water source. Banking to his right, he came upon the water. Trailing down the hillside from the mountains behind him. He lowered his maw and began to drink, a change of taste from the snow he licked to keep hydrated. It was crisp, cold, tasted of minerals. Taking in the scenery, his ears perked when he heard laughter. Squinting, he saw a wolf near a small creek. Drinking from the one he was standing next to.

Who was it? And what was it doing? He was still a good distance, unable to catch its scent. Curious though, and subconsciously craving another soul to talk to, he slowly picked his way down the slope, brushing through the fields of growing flowers. Pollen and petals clung to his coat, eyes fixed on the creature ahead of him. Eventually, he caught its scent. A female. Ears flicked nervously, usually he wasn't the type to walk up and talk to someone, but something inside him screamed for some form of contact. He stopped a few yards behind her, not wanting to startle her he remained standing in the tulips, the ones grown as high as his chest, covering half his body. Should he speak out? Surely she'd scent him by now...he remained silent. Eyes cast somewhat on the ground.
