She had her pupils completed attention, and Shaye grinned to see her excitement. She had a lot to teach the girl, and was eager to get started. She didn’t see Actaea’s lack of knowledge as a downfall, she saw it as the perfect place to start her education. She was still waiting for the girl to realise that Shaye had only drawn Seven crosses in the map, despite mentioning Eight packs. But there was plenty of time for her apprentice to see that.
“We have the start of alliances with Celestrial, Fryi, and Kesali. We have a complete pact with the Risen Empire that I will go through with you shortly. We have talks with Legion and Lirim, but no promises made between us as of yet.” she would go on to explain, pointing at each cross as she spoke to help the girl remember where each one was. “Most of these alliances revolve around trade and knowledge, such as sharing members of a certain field that another is lacking, or food for pelts depending on who needs more warmth and who needs more food stores.” she would go on to explain the nature of an alliance.
“A deeper alliance promises aid, such as the one we have with the Risen Empire. If we are attacked, they will send warriors to fight for us, if myself and Rhyme get challenged, they would pose a threat to the challenger. In return, we house their members if they come this far into Boreas, will not oppose them politically and offer them material aid. The Risen Empire is a larger pack with a superior number of fighters, so this alliance in particular is important to us, because they had a higher ground in negotiations, they could have asked for more than they did”
