Peggy shrugged her pack more comfortably onto her shoulders, liking the way it settled down without too much heft despite being full. Full of rocks, that was. She had found the pack on a trip outside of pack lands and was testing the way it felt under a heavy load, so she'd know in advance of actually needing to use it to carry something heavy what she could expect. Which in this case meant rocks, because herbs weren't heavy and she didn't want to risk any precious jars of ointments or washes from Kassander's stores.

She'd picked up some along the rapids, then trotted along to the plains and filled up a couple more of the removable pouches, and now she was making her way through the thicket to see how the bulging pack fared in the closer confines there. It wasn't bad, really, though she had some trouble where the trees were thicker and didn't bend aside as easily when she tried to squeeze through them, so the pack caught and held her back until she twisted to a different angle or backed out to bypass those trees altogether.

Just then, as she forced her way between two such thicker trees, she felt a thick short branch snag a loop on the pack just above her shoulder and yank her to a halt. She tried to back out of it, but the branch was forked just the right way to foil her attempts. She craned her neck to look back enough to see that the loop had slipped down between the branch and the main trunk, so it would need to go up to get over it. But passing between the trees as she was, she couldn't quite manage to get the leverage to raise herself up enough to do so.

She stopped struggling for the moment, stumped, so to speak, by the puzzle. It wasn't an emergency by any means, since she could just howl for any of her pack mates to come help her, but it was definitely less than ideal.
