Land Down Unda'

It was a cold evening. The girl was lost and confused. Voices filled her head as they argued over which path to take next...
Evanthe- "I think we should just stay where we a-"
Arete- "Shut up you piece of wasted flesh!"
The girl shook her head from side to side. Each long motion rocking her body.
Evanthe- "I... I a.. am s..s..sorry."
Arete- "I said be quiet! I have to think. How about we get closer to the edge of that ravine..."
The young female ventured closer to the drop. Pale blue orbs peered down into the icy abyss below. A shiver ran down her spine, but it was soon met with a cruel smirk upon her lips as Arete began to speak.
Arete- "See? Isn't that nice? Look at the endless void below. See how it beckons you. It would be better if you take one more step in... and down, down, down you will fall. All your worries will fade away, and you shall be at piece forever. Go on... just a little closer... closer... closer."
Evanthe- "I don-"
Callia- "Eve quick! Just a little more! They are after us... Do you want another beating? Eve just go!"
Arete- "Yes, listen to Callia. She is smart... very smart indeed. Just lean down and fall forward. It's simple my dear..."
Evanthe stared into the easy answer of piece. It seemed so simple. Perhaps she should listen to Arete for once. Maybe it was the right decision. Just a little fall, then everything would be alright... yeah, alright.
