A solo missing her duet

Peggy's route had taken her to the borders, and on impulse rather than orders she had taken up a patrol. Whenever she was actually back in pack lands that was her tendency. Take up a patrol on her own, or tidy the mess burrowing creatures had left of the substantial herb stores in Kassanders old den. There were extra FURS and hides there too, enough to comfortably furnish someone, but no one else ever went there so everything just sat unused.
She was thrown off balance when a sudden call cut through her musing that was simultaneously unfamiliar and one of the most familiar voices in the world, a voice she had grown up with but had grown up itself on the intervening seasons since she had last heard the sound of its younger self. Peggy gaped in disbelief a moment, before that disbelief turned to a pure ringing not. Bounding like a puppy she leaped to answer the call and, as she came upon her slightly darker, slightly smaller sibling, Arpeggio's voice called out in a yipping screech of welcome before she attempted to tackle Cadence.
