Winter was bothering him a lot more this year, it made his bones ache and at times he barely felt the urge to get up in the morning. He still had duties to perform even with the absence of his mate once again. This time he didn't have time to mope over it, he was caring for the kids on his own and performing the his duties. The tall male was beginning to feel his age, joints and bones aching especially with the cold. He pushed through it, keeping his mind on his kids and the pack. Normally Star would be his go to for healing, but in her absence he was considering looking for Ara, the older more experienced healer within the pack.
He was heading back from his patrol, heading towards the den. He was ready to curl back up in the den, especially with the bitter chill in the air today. If the kids were rammy he could at least lay within the den entrance while they played. Something caught his eye making him pause in his travels. He could see a form curled on the ground, but he was to far to tell who it was. He decided to check it out, after the death of Jewell's one child he had been on edge not wanting to loose another pack member.
As he grew closer the familiar coat color began to show and he realized it was Kairi. He was a bit confused at what she was doing especially when her body was curled together like she was cold. He closed the space coming a few feet from her before stopping.
"Enjoying this beautiful cold weather," he asked a small teasing smile playing on his mouth. It was obvious that he was being sarcastic.
