On the trail

After lazing about in her den for part of the morning Cael was finally contemplating venturing out into the winter morning. Last night she'd slept like a pup, totally exhausted from the previous days adventure. Her eyes were still heavy when she crawled towards her den's entrance, yawning and trying to blink the sleep away. It was... definitely snowing again, with a thick layer of ominous looking clouds overhead. Cael considered going back to bed. Why she ended up finally leaving the den she honestly wasn't sure. Part of it was the hunger that rumbled in her stomach now that she was awake.

She'd settled on starting by getting some breakfast and was making her way towards where she'd stashed several rabbits recently when she caught a strange scent. It wasn't wolf... Picking up the pace, Cael arrived just in time to see the rotten orange scoundrel munching away at the second rabbit, one already picked mostly clean. What the hell?!

Without a second thought she barreled forward, growling out a war cry as she flew towards the offending fox which let out a startled yip when it saw her coming. She began chasing it for some time - little shit was fast! Not one to give up easily, she chased it, wild look still in her eye as they zig-zagged all across the thicket until both had almost lost all sense of direction.
