Joshua and Jericho

The man stared at Archon, dumbfounded beyond belief. He cast a glance skyward and it took Archon a second to realize he wasn't pleading to some god to save him, but rather directing his gaze to the raven above.
He should have been praying.
He asked why he would do that. Archon let out a light, disappointed sigh- one that seemed to almost suggest that Tyranis had missed something painfully obvious. It was like a pup after they had missed one too many prey pounces during training. Even if he tried, he just couldn't get it.
And then he got all defensive. It was easy to understand that in the presence of such greatness, such power, that the smaller ruler would feel threatened and cornered even in his own pack. His display of defensiveness reeked of fear and Archon had to put some effort into not smiling confidently when he went to answer.
"Oh, well, because I want it. God wants it- and it will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." Archon wondered if it was even worth explaining. "I thought maybe you would want to save face for your pack or save your packmates from the pain of being forcibly uprooted."
Was that a challenge? Maybe it was a challenge. Archon glanced towards Obi's direction, setting himself up defensively in case the monochromatic alpha didn't take kindly to his next words.
"Tell me, would you rather settle this here or in the battlefield?"
