Skill Prompts are a monthly feature that allows your character to gain skills in different ways. Each character can only complete ONE prompt per season, and can be completed either in a solo post or in a group thread. You cannot claim these posts for other skill points. Please note that as long as you complete the objectives, you're free to be creative with your posts and have some fun with these prompts!
For solo posts, you must complete the entire prompt in one post. Of course, you can use these posts as thread starters and continue the thread as usual, but no other skills may be claimed by you from that thread.
For group threads, the word count is cumulative and will be taken over all participants. However, participants must be ACTIVELY trying to complete the skill prompt for their words to count. Note that group threads have a maximum of 3 allowed participants unless otherwise specified.

Spring Into Action: With the warming Spring temperatures come a lot of new babies! The downfall to this… there’s also a lot of angry mothers. One step too close to a baby animal or their living space could cause the mother to fly into a rage. If a wolf is to make it out alive, they must be able to stand their ground or stand down.

Goal: Defend yourself against an upset mother (can be prey or predator), or escape with your life.
Word Count: 800 (Solo) or 1500 (Group)
Location: Boreas
Tasks:
1. Begin your thread after you spot the mother.
2. Detail the conflict between you and the mother. Be mindful of defensive versus aggressive actions.
3. Resolve your post/thread by either successfully defending yourself against the mother, or successfully escaping.

Reward: 30 Fighting Skill Points

Hunting

Fresh Kill: Wolves often prey on the young and the old, thinning herds and creating balance in the wild. Sometimes they kill what they must, but in the Spring, many choices are presented often all at once. Many herds travel during the Spring, leaving them spread out for observation. See what you can learn from it and maybe get a meal while you’re at it.

Goal: Stalk a herd with young and old members. Deer and other herding animals are good for this. Show the thought process in deciding to target a young or old herd member for food.
Word Count: 800 (Solo) or 1500 (Group)
Location: Western or Eastern Boreas
Tasks:
1. Be clear about what prey species you are seeking out.
2. Clearly discuss the specific challenges related to hunting a healthy member of that species and compare that to a young or old member of that species.
3. Show the entirety of the hunt, whether the prey is successfully caught or not.

Reward: 30 Hunting Skill Points

Healing

Spring Fling: Spring has sprung! Flowers and herbs are blooming all over the place! Get em while they’re hot!

Goal: Seek out plants not listed in the guidebook. Find at least 3 that can be used to heal OR poison other wolves. Describe them in detail and talk about what they can be used for and how.
