Chaos vs Odysseus

Odysseus eyed the sorry looking creature that was to be the referee of his first fight. The scaly patches and red spots on the coydog's skin made his own skin crawl so while its shifty eyes and shadowy behavior made Odysseus think the little beast might steal the monkey off his back if given the chance, his heart went out to him. After the referee said his piece Odysseus barked at him, "You want to get that skin taken care of, you come see me after the tournament."

After acknowledging his opponent with a polite nod Odysseus stepped into the ring. The picture of calm, he kneaded the sand beneath his paws as he walked to get a feel for the kind of traction it offered. He rolled his neck, loosening the muscles there, and then set the defenses that came naturally. His ears flattened, eyes narrowed and hackles rose. The rest would be placed strategically.

Odysseus whipped around suddenly, hind legs coiling beneath him in preparation of a charge. The sand underfoot hissed as he kicked off. His opponent had imposing looking teeth so Odysseus' goal would be to make as little contact with them as possible. He sought to slam the center of his chest into the meaty outside of Chaos' right shoulder. Simultaneously Odysseus sought to bite into Chaos' scruff directly behind his ears in the hopes of gaining control of his opponent's head and thus preventing him from using his serrated fangs.
