She hadn’t seen her friend in a while, and she missed his warm laugh, and his soft eyes. He could often be found here, in the Orchard, but it felt like some time since she had run into him last. She used herb gathering as an excuse to come this way, and it was a great place to find little treasures, growing in the fertile soil. But she knew the truth, and as she arrived once more to find it barren of his scent, she would let out a soft sigh. Not one to waste the day, the younger healer got to work. She grabbed fruit fallen from the trees, she liked to experiment with their pomace, to see what herbal properties they might provide. She also nosed through the undergrowth in search of hidden treasures that might have blossomed with the approach of Spring. The buzz of insects was loud, especially near the fruit trees, where the insects feasted happily on some of the more rotten castoffs. The scent could be a little strong in places, so she tried to stare clear of the denser areas of the orchard. All in all, it was mediocre work, she didn’t find anything new or interesting, but she was able to gather a few herbs that she knew would serve her well. |
