Caelia slowed as she approached, eyeing the saddlebags offered in her direction. Obediently she complied, using a paw to lift the midsection and slip her head under it, letting it slide down to her back, just below her shoulders. She was unaccustomed to the weight across her back but she figured she'd get used to it before long, wearing them as comfortably as Aurielle did.

Caelia paused as Aurielle spoke up, explaining they'd be stopping at Lirim during her first trip behind the wall. Shit. The way Aurielle said that made her wonder if she realized that she and her siblings had showed up to that big mess of a fight, but she swallowed her words and nodded more meekly than she meant to. Agreeing verbally just seemed dishonest, something Caelia really wasn't, but being totally transparent seemed like a disservice to her siblings who hadn't been called out. Either way, the intensity of that gathering had taught them a thing or two and she was pretty sure Vivienne was scarred permanently from the experience. The less Aurielle knows, the better, she thought silently to herself.

The silence that seemed to engulf them was uncomfortable, but she busied herself with following after her. The yearling tried to view the quiet that settled between them as contemplative rather than awkward, though as they neared the edge of the wall Aurielle broke it. Her words, though they shouldn't have been surprising at all, struck a raw nerve and she felt the muscles in her face twitch into a slight frown. Thinking about her mother wasn't easy, especially when the thoughts caught her off guard, and this moment was no exception. "Yes," Caelia answered, her voice soft and glum. "I aspire to be like her more than anything." Her mother had expressed that learning the ways packs operated - especially ones outside of Celestial - would be beneficial to her, and apparently Aurielle had caught on to her line of thinking.
