The mortal god remained in the forest of brilliant magenta buds as he waited for his half sister’s returned. He had toyed with the thought that she would not come back and break her promise, but he couldn’t dwell on that what-if. His ivory form slipped through the tangle of thin trunks as the sunlight filtered down upon his glinting golden markings. Thoth was near silent as he shifted through the trees, quiet enough to notice the stranger sightseeing.
Bright gold and silver gaze took in his black and white form as the man admired the trees around them. Thoth couldn’t blame him, they were brilliant especially at this point of the year. The light was perfect and the day beautiful. He watched the wolf for a moment before slipping from behind the dark colored bark of the redbuds.
”You look like you’ve never seen a tree before, he offered amusedly as his ivory lips pulled back in a smile. His whisper like voice was good natured as he watched the wolf before him.
