Skill Prompts are a monthly feature that allows your character to gain skills in different ways. Each character can only complete ONE prompt per season, and can be completed either in a solo post or in a group thread. You cannot claim these posts for other skill points! Please note that as long as you complete the objectives, you're free to be creative with your posts and have some fun with these prompts!
For solo posts, you must complete the entire prompt in one post. Of course, you can use these posts as thread starters and continue the thread as usual, but no other skills may be claimed by you from that thread.
For group threads, the word count is cumulative and will be taken over all participants. However, participants must be ACTIVELY trying to complete the skill prompt for their words to count. Note that group threads have a maximum of 3 allowed participants unless otherwise specified.

Fighting

Don't Wake Me: It’s Auster. It’s cold. No, it’s not snowing, but it’s cold. Say you were tromping around all loud and woke someone up from a warm, cozy nap, and they're a little angry. Maybe they put their dukes up and wanna fight. Yeah, that’s what happened!

Goal: Fight off a medium-sized pissed off predator!
Word Count: 800 (Solo) or 1500 (Group)
Location: Auster
Tasks:
1. Start around the time you wake up the sleeping grump.
2. Duke it out!
3. Victory or death! Just kidding, you can still flee. Resolve your post or thread by either engaging in a fight with the grump, or fleeing.

Reward: 30 Fighting Skill Points

Hunting

Summer Picnic: The weather's nice and it’s time for a picnic! Get some hunting points for hosting a group picnic!

Goal: Start with the planning of the hunt and go through the entirety of the hunt. Note that due to the heat it may not be possible to do a long and drawn out chase.
Word Count: 1500 (Group Only)
Location: Boreas
Tasks:
1. Start before the hunt begins. Does your character discuss their hunting plans? Who is participating in the hunt, and who gets to eat?
2. Make a kill! Focus on the strategy of the hunt, and the dynamics of hunting in extreme summer heat.
3. Eat up! Who eats first, and why? Does anyone get to eat who didn't participate in the hunt?
4. BONUS: +10 Intellect points for anyone who brings an item crafted in a previous thread that can either be used in the picnic, or consumed during it!

Reward: 30 Hunting Skill Points, +10 Intellect points if bonus prompt is met

Healing

Wilted Salad: Hot summers can cause some herbs to wilt while others flourish. How can healers deal with these seasonal changes?

Goal: Substitute some fresh spring herbs for some summer herb alternatives. It’s not preserving time just yet, so maybe you can find places where spring herbs still spring up!
Word Count: 800 (Solo) or 1500 (Group)
Location: Boreas
Tasks:
1. Find some wilted herbs/plants that do not work well in hot summers. (I suggest Google!)
2. Find summer/heat friendly alternatives, or even ways to cultivate your favorite spring herbs.
3. Please discuss at least 5 different plants throughout the thread!
4. These don’t have to be ALL healing plants. Some can be consumables, poisons, or other creative healing items!

Reward: 30 Healing Skill Points

Navigation

Rain, Rain Go Away: Summer brings afternoon showers as usual, but why and when do they usually start and stop? Sometimes they get severe and cause flooding. Maybe you can observe something about this seasonal pattern.

Goal: Glean some info about the pattern and severity of the storms in your area. You can talk about past observations as well as current conditions, and use both to predict what will happen in the future
Word Count: 800 (Solo) or 1500 (Group)
Location: Boreas
Tasks:
1. Observe an afternoon storm.
2. Think about the pattern your wolf may have seen in the past weeks or even past summers.
3. Use this info to make predictions about the weather, weather-proof a den, prepare a hunting or travel route, etc! Be creative!

Reward: 30 Navigation Skill Points

Intellect

Let The Games Begin: Can your and your wolf come up with/play a game of the minds?

Goal: Have your character either think up, set up, or play some sort of strategy game. If you’re playing one, you need at least one opponent (It can be your own companion for a solo thread!).
Word Count: 800 (Solo) or 1500 (Group)
Location: Anywhere
Tasks:
1. Explain the rules.
2. Play the game!
3. Who is the victor?
