Pyralis vs Felicien

Pyralis' initial set of attacks just grazed the man but she'd had better luck with her jaws. Instead of seizing the man's face she managed to get a grip high on his neck, just behind his jaw. It was a good solid place from which she could attempt to control the man's head but then her opponent attacked. He pushed forward but she steeled herself, spreading all four of her limbs wide, her tail flagging out behind her for added balance. She needed to ground herself against the heavier opponent. In moving her limbs wide she displaced the man's paw swipe, his claws instead raking the inside of her right foreleg.

The man attempted to shift his jaws toward her which she could feel from her position so close to his head. Immediately she sought to counter as she attempted to thrash her head violently to her own right, seeking both to increase the damage from her own attack and to spare herself a bit of damage. It was a gambit. In thrashing her head she might well increase the damage but she also risked losing her grip as flesh tore.
