His ducking motion and attack had worked to a degree. His snout slammed her jaws shut, but only for a brief moment. His own nose was likely to bruise after this, but it was a minor price to pay. He had at least gotten her jaws away from his neck, and that was all he really cared about. However, as she aimed her fangs at his scruff, his Osprey companion let loose a wild screech as it dove, talons extended as it sought to rake them across her crown in an effort to distract her.
Cloud himself, however, felt the pricking of the voice in his head, but refused to let it out. This wasn't the type of fight that was worth any unnecessary bloodshed, so he fought and quelled it as best he could. His own jaws snapped open, muzzle still pointed upward as he kept a half-bowed position. He waited until she drew closer before seeking to catch her bottom jaw in his own waiting teeth. His goal was to grab her and toss her head to the side an deflect her attack. And since his position was already close to the ground with his chest practically resting on the dirt, he swiped at her forepaws with his own, hoping to further distract her or sweep them out from under her, if not unbalance her.
