Heavy is the Head

Her heart and mood felt lighter now that she had time to see her long lost sister. To find out she was alive, and doing extremely well. After so many years it was hard to believe that it had been so long ago since Derecho had disappeared and that they had been wee pups in Abaven. This news would surely make her mother's day and she was excited to go home and tell her. Although thinking of her mother dampened her mood again. She had been able to hold her emotion as she told Derecho that mother was ill, to hold back how serious things were. She felt Derecho could see the held back emotions within her eyes and understand what this could mean. Now that she was alone with Brandr she felt her hold on her emotions were starting to falter. She held strong before her mother and her sister, but now that she didn't have to hold strong she was feeling like she was going to crack.

She had been quiet since they had parted from Derecho and Torin, but right now she wanted to talk. She knew Brandr would want to fully know everything. She would suddenly stop walking and her gold eyes would seek Brandr's gaze.

"I couldn't..... Say how serious mom's condition is," she would utter softly before her gaze would drop to the ground.
