The shrine. Of course it was the shrine. Had he chosen a place so powerful that it simply called to every wolf that approached it or was the territory itself that much of a dispute? It wasn’t a volcano, that much was certain, but since the day he had brought his pack to the land he had been cursed. The man babbled, seemingly unaware that he had no set defenses, and without waiting to hear another word from him, Tyranis flew forward and seized the man’s throat in his jaws. Pegasus threw his head to the side, breaking the clench he had on his throat but injuring him in the process. The scent of blood filled the air and for a moment his opponent could only gape at him.
He spat a clot of blood and fur then set his defenses, spreading his legs and bringing his center of gravity lower to the ground, bending his knees, pinning his ears, narrowing his eyes, sinking his claws into the earth and raising his hackles. He wanted a fight he would get it, he could join the kings and lords that fell to his fangs.
The man rushed forward abruptly his jaws agape. Tyranis rose onto his back legs as well, his right front paw attempting to collide with the left side of Peg’s upper chest between his shoulder and sternum while his upper body attempted to twist in an arch to his {ty’s} right in an attempt to sink his fangs into the right side of Peg’s cheek. The man’s forepaws locked around his left sideand he felt the weight of his larger body bear down on him, but Ty’s legs kept him rooted in place. The man’s fangs raked against his right shoulder but found no purchase
