With a cough and a gasp, Pegasus opened his eyes, bloodied and sore with bruises. “You win…The Shrine…Is yours…to keep…Guard it…guard it well.” He wheezed surprised that he could speak at all his whole body ached, and his jaw trembled as blood seeped from his throat. He would have been happy for the scars had the battle itself not been such an embarrassment. He closed his eyes. Fighting back tears. He had come all this way and failed.
What would he do now? Would he return to Lirium with his tail between his legs? Or would he return home with his siblings as he should have done from the beginning? "Talk" "Thought" "You" |
