Brandr followed after his wife as they left the Battlefield. The challenge had certainly been something and he hardly knew what to make of everything that he'd seen. The Abraxas clearly weren't content just with Auster, now they'd fixated on the shrine for some reason he couldn't imagine. What value did a pile of human rubble have? Either way the conflict had certainly attracted a lot of attention. He wondered what Shaye thought of all this and what she planned to do. She knew of the Abraxas but how did she view Abaven's relationship with them? He only hoped that Abaven wasn't going to get tangled up with that wretched family again.
Brandr reached out to nuzzle his mate's shoulder. Something was troubling her, he knew that much and it wasn't just the challenge. "Corentine?"

Brandr felt his stomach sink. He knew that Storm was getting up in years but he'd still hoped that this visit would be a happy one for Corentine. He moved closer, seeking to press his body gently against hers, to let her know that he was here for her as best he could be. "I'm sorry… how… how bad is she?"
