Do you feel that I can see your soul?
Seshet knew who she was, what her duty was. Her parent's had never shied away from telling her what her role would be if the gods ever walked the earth in her life time. She also knew what her job was if they never did, she couldn't just let the gods and their legends die with her so she'd always also known she'd need to find a suitable mate. She was too young to understand the primal way a body could crave another but she was no stranger to attraction. She had spent the last few months before she left on her journey pinning after an acolyte, a pretty little thing in training to be a priestess. So she knew what attraction felt like, but this? Well, this was different, stronger. It seemed the male also felt the draw, moving closer to her now as well. Seshet rocked one on her toes, feeling like she wanted to keep closing the distance between them. Instead, she stayed, watching him and thinking over his question. Normally a name would suffice for an answer to his questions, but it seemed inadequate or as if that wasn't quite what he was asking. When Seshet finally found her voice she spoke softly but with confidence in her answer. "I am but a humble servant, dedicated to the gods." She wanted to ask him who he was in return but it felt wrong. |
