Heavy is the Burden

It did Erani?s heart good to see Soleil happy again, healthy and strong, eyes bright and strong, and the steady rippling of pups moving in the womb made Erani?s tail wag just to see the life. Soleil?s words made her grin. ?Indeed. I can see the eagerness from here. How many do you think there are?? She hoped there were several. Collision was large, and his size could transfer to his offspring, making a birthing difficult to say the least. Soleil?s small size would add to that difficulty. Soleil?s answer to her question made her frown. So that was why she wasn?t staying in her den. ?My den has several alcoves in it, you can take one for yourself. And once your litter is old enough to move and your den is dried out, you could move them in. I?ll happily help. And I think my daughters would love the chance to see a birthing. I?m hoping one of them will take to our Craft. I don?t think either of my sons are going to be healers. Castiel takes after his father, and Gabriel.. Well, he?s Gabriel. Wandering the world and he?s not even a yearling yet. I worry for him.? A new voice made her turn, a smile gracing her muzzle. ?Ah, Gael. How are you today?? Soleil, it seemed, didn?t recognize her own son. Erani thought at first that this was odd, until she recalled that Gael and Soleon had left Valhalla, in search of their father, and never come back until Gael came home recently. And he?d come back while Soleil and Collision were staying in Glaciem. She stepped aside as Gael greeted his mother, giving them room. Soleil?s reaction made her grin. ?Growing like a dandelion.? Deep blues twinkled as she agreed with Soleil?s words. |
