Like father like son

Saren didn’t notice the presence of his father until he heard his voice calling “Son”. Saren didn’t consider himself close to either of his parents, they were just kind’ve there the same way he was. It made sense that he was called son as opposed to his name. His father asked what he was doing inside as opposed to outside. Saren did like the outside more than the inside, but he didn’t feel like going outside right now because it was just harder to be out there.
Looking in the direction of his father Saren began to form a reply to his question, “I don’t know, I like the outside but inside just felt better today. Why did you find me? I like being alone.” Saren’s expression lie somewhere between hurt and sadness. He was living in a life of his own making, but he was too young to understand that.
