remnants of the past

a deep breath calmed her nerves. focus the mind said, the voice inside her head attempting to remain anxiety-free despite its own misgivings. she came here on a whim and was just... well, the whole place was unknown to her. she didn't know where she was going, only that she had to keep moving. tensions may be high here - for there were wolves here like her - due to the humidity. fights about water sources, hunting... hell, even personal relationships. Morgan knew what that was like as a loner. she couldn't wait for autumn to come. it'd be less stressful. not too cold. not too hot. perfect for long trips outside.
because she was literally dying of heat stroke at this moment.
the young woman had traveled quite far to reach these lands and she didn't even know the name of it. or where she was standing at this moment. all she knew is she was alive and that was good enough for her. most people didn't reach new places without a few scratches. she'd done fine for herself. lifting her head, the piebald would wander the ruins of the island without care. sometimes she'd bend idly over to sniff at some crumbling structure before thinking she needed to find somewhere to sleep. the evening filled the sky with purple-pink hues and the birds had gone silent. crickets would come out soon.
at least the heat wasn't unbearable anymore with the lowering sun.
