We lost one of our herb gardens, and out main store of food” she explained, eyeing going bleack as she considered it. “But most of all, we lost a wolf. Storm. She was very, very old, and I had not known she had gone into the thicket. Losing her is my biggest regret in the fire. Everything else we can rebuild, but we can never undo the taking of a life.”
