Rhyme had told her about Samara, but she had been so distracted with what was going on in the pack, she was yet to meet the girl. She remedied that today as she made her way to the den Rhyme had spoken of, and stopped near the entrance.

After a brief sniff, she could tell that Samara wasn’t home, and would catch the scent trail the woman had left. It took her around Abaven, and Shaye could only guess she was still learning the lay of the land, and the roundabout path showed her more than a straight one would have.

She found the dark coated woman eventually, near the rapids, and stretching out her limbs. Shaye cleared her throat as she approached, stopping not far from the stranger. “Hello, Samara, is it?” she said politely. “I’m Shaye, the Alpha here” she explained.
