wont feel nothin' better

His first few days in the area had been a special kind of torture. With his heavy ruff and stocky body, Dag spent most of the time sweating in the shade. In his ancestral, glacial land, he would fit right in - but in southern Boreas, he was a sad sight. He had to get Valk back to something colder soon or he would simply wither away. The only bonus was that he had tracked some ways inland and found a lovely, damp little area that had plenty of great fungus.
Dag was nosediving straight into a hole of psilocybin when the storm began. He was making his way back to the band and had just set paw on the sand when the first flash of lightning rebounded off of the sand. His jaw dropped. Although his pupils were already dilated, now his eyes widened until almost all of the white was visible. Every time the sand lit up, it did so in a rainbow of colors - this time, it was yellow, then blue, then purple... It was exquisite.
He was accustomed to visual hallucinations, but there was an exceptional beauty to this one. It was almost divine. Dag whooped and sprinted onto the beach, throwing his head up and letting loose a joyous howl. Light and color poured around him, baptizing him in their otherworldly glow. Out of the corner of his eye, Dag spotted the most beautiful creature he'd ever seen. She was purple and white and had a blinding halo over her head. Just looking at her suffused him with warmth.
Trying to regain his composure, Dagfinn gave a little yip of a greeting and trotted over to Deathbelle. "Hello, yndisleg. Did you bring the light show tonight, or are the gods simply celebrating your beauty?" Any wolf who dabbled in poisons or psychoactive herbs and fungi would recognize his bison-hoof sized pupils and unfocused gaze.
yndisleg - lovely (Icelandic)
