She pressed her ears back as far as they would go as the male spoke once more. It seemed the male was a sellsword then. He expected payment of some type for saving her. Only he was getting payment from a girl who literally had nothing. She didn’t know how to heal, hunt, or fight. All she knew was to be a slave to the whims of men and what she’d learned of childbirth. She couldn’t even justify taking food from the kill pile for the male, not after the fire, they needed everything they could get.
She looked down at her own paws, what even to offer the male weighing heavily on her. She could follow after him and do as he wished of her until her debt was paid, but she really didn’t want to lose her way and lose Rhyme in the darkness of her life once more. What did he want though that she could give him? Should she risk his ire and ask him?
She decided quickly and tentatively asked, ”What would you like from me, I don’t own anything or have anything of value to offer.” She chanced a glance up to his ruby red gaze. Though she was quick to drop her eyes once more.
