look who's expecting

Deathbelle’s royal form strode confidently through th etrees of the ravine. Moonlight fell on her back and the breeze played gently with her fur. Night was now truly upon them. Belle would make this the point of her announcement. A few of her closest wolves had already figured out, or been told, of her impending litter, now the rest of the pack would know and celebrate with their Empress. She was a quarter of the way through her pregnancy, and now her rounding belly was no longer easy to hide. Her thin frame showed her bump much too easily, and she had no desire to keep the secret from her family any longer. They had reached a safe point to reveal and tonight she would.

Ivory splashed fur glowed in the moonlight as she took up her place next to the lake. She would have preferred to gather everyone around her palace, but the patio was too small for the whole of the pack. Here next to the water in the chill of the night there was plenty of room in the grasses on the shore. Belle sighed contentedly before titling back her head and calling out for the pack. They were not required to appear, and she called out her joyous news to the far borders of her territory. Their Empress was with child.
