He appreciated the quiet of the new slave, through no doubt he was just trying to understand what was happening around him. He wanted to pat him on the shoulder and tell him everything would be alright, but that was a weaker side of him he didn’t feel like indulging. Instead, he stood in stony silence and waited, until Deathbelle showed up first. He bowed to his Empress, and offered her a smile, trying not to think about Zee’s betrayed expression as she had stalked away.
“This is Nimbus, I found him injured in the battlefield and did not believe he would fair well if I left him behind.” Sirius explained to his Empress, surprised when she admitted to knowing the man as a storyteller. He eyed her for a moment for any hint of the reprimand he had seen in Zee’s eyes, and when he didn’t find it, he smiled again. Perhaps Nimbus might be even more use then he thought, if Zee had liked his company as a storyteller.
“Lady Lucretia” he said politely as he nodded his head to her and moved out of the way, so that the healer might reach him more easily.
