He rumbled softly in his chest, a content noise as she thanked him. They lay side by side, but not too close, for Zee did not enter the space he left her. He didn’t think too heavily on it, he would give her whatever space she needed. He would just ensure he was there for her, in this home they now shared. That thought still sent a shot of delight through him, that she was here and under his protection. He knew that if she had been back in her den, he would spend the night fretting, unreasonable, and certain that someone would hurt her well he wasn’t there to watch over her.

Zee’s response was sheepish when she finally answered him on his queary of eventual alphaship. ”I do not want you to leave, either” he admitted. He wanted her to succeed, to rise above the position of slave she had placed herself in. he believed that she would manage it one day. There was a strength in her, and something in her nature he didn’t think could ever break. He admired her for it. Of course, if that was to ever happen, it would mean her splitting for Deathbelles pack, and he feared that might just tear him in two. He was already possessive of Zee, held feelings for her. (love? maybe.) he knew that if he allowed those feelings to grow, letting go of her would be very, very hard.

On the other flip of the coin, there was Deathbelle, and his loyalty to her was absolute. How could he ever leave her side? He would trust no other to protect her, support her, and be a pillar for her. He wished he could see a path in life that included both these amazing wolves close to him.
