The voice startled him, causing him to jump to his feet, of course soon as his feet found the ground he would stumble a bit before becoming balanced. Ears were tilted back, nervous, but as the words she spoke registered he offered a slight grin. “Uh…yeah…” He trailed, an obvious lie. He’d been too busy gawking at the trees to care about the bugs. Ears pricked as he noticed her bag and his head tilted slightly. “I bet you are having better luck.” She was older, she had to be better at catching bugs than he had been. Even with a pretty girl helping him he didn’t feel like he had done that well.
The youth would yawn, shaking his head afterwards before glancing around. It was late, he was tired. “So…you live around here?” He asked, sincerely hoping she could at least point him towards a good hide out to sleep in. He wasn’t looking for hand outs, he just needed to be pointed in the right direction.
